The #1 Blog
I titled my blog "The #1 Blog" to send the message that I am #1 in my life! That's right! I COME FIRST! I come before my wife, before my kids and before my career. The reason is simple; if I'm not the most important person in my life I won't be able to be the best version of myself. I must take care of myself first so that I can then take care of those who I love the most! I'm actually being selfish if I don't put myself first. This blog is meant to capture your interest in the notion of taking care of yourself to the point where your self interest changes to commitment. A commitment to yourself! Us guys can be pretty good at prioritizing things but manage to put ourselves last on the list. You gotta take care of YOU first so that you can be the best version of yourself - someone with tons of energy! Someone who looks in the mirror and is gratified and happy by the person staring back at him. Most of us look in the mirror and love the person we see but when we keep looking, we see something missing. This "something missing" is an amazing opportunity for personal growth as a father, husband, son, businessman, boss or team member but most of all it's the single biggest growth opportunity for ourselves! To be the best version of YOU is the most precious and generous gift you can give yourself.
Most of us men are conditioned to eat, walk and talk conforming to our society. We live in various environments with different demands and challenges relating to our time, sleep, eating, relationships and personal happiness. There are basic daily fundamental practices which allow for us men to handle these demands and challenges whilst minimizing our stress and enjoying our lives in a way which most of us have never experienced! I have clients who are CEOs, former pro athletes, employees on senior teams, lawyers and even doctors. All of them have something in common. They know they can be much happier and they will because they have made it their top priority and everyone around them are benefiting. The other day I had a wife of a client call me to thank me for giving her "an energetic, happy husband". I told her that he's the one who did this. That I am the coach who guides him to the best he can be but he's the guy who made the commitment to a longer and more fulfilling lifestyle. A nutritional lifestyle change + a personalized fitness plan = weight loss, more energy, better sleep, less stress and self confidence. This is the path which leads to the very best version of you!
I see my clients once a week, go through their planned workout and check in on progress of their nutrition plan. We make adjustments to their fitness program and discuss how they will overcome any personal challenges.
